ESG rating (or sustainability rating) is a synthetic evaluation that certifies the soundness of an issuer, a security or a fund in terms of environmental, social and governance performance.

Il Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) è un’organizzazione no-profit internazionale che consente alle aziende di dichiarare e rendicontare i propri rischi legati ai cambiamenti climatici. Comunicare le proprie performance in campo ambientale agli stakeholder ha una notevole rilevanza, in quanto gli investitori e le istituzioni finanziarie valutano positivamente l’inclusione dei rischi legati ai cambiamenti climatici nelle politiche aziendali. I dati CDP sono utilizzati da e per il mercato finanziario, le iniziative politiche e la società civile.
Nel 2019 BPER Banca ha aderito al CDP e ha ottenuto il rating C per il settore «Climate Change», raggiungendo e superando l’obiettivo del Piano Industriale. A seguito del rilascio del rating, le aziende che rispondono alla versione completa del questionario sui cambiamenti climatici ricevono anche un punteggio sul coinvolgimento dei fornitori. Questo rating valuta le prestazioni in termini di governance, obiettivi, emissioni
indirette e impegno nella catena del valore sui cambiamenti climatici. Il rating per il Supplier Engaging di BPER Banca è B.

Standard Ethics is an independent rating agency active since 2004, promoting the standard
principles of sustainability and governance issued by the EU, the OECD and the United Nations.
Its final assessments on the level of compliance of companies and nations with the sustainability principles are expressed through nine different rating classifications (from EEE to F).
In 2019, BPER earned an upgrade with a rating of “EE-” and a “Positive” outlook.
The Bank is part of the SE Italian Banks Index and the SE Italian Index.
Standard Ethics determined that BPER’s ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) reporting is in line with European best practices. The internal Policies appear to be advanced in various areas, such as anti-money laundering and prevention of corruption; sharing of information and communication with investors; management of human resources, company welfare and gender equality; risk management and controls; dematerialisation; social and green finance.

The ESG assessments of the MSCI (Morgan Stanley Complex Index) aim to measure a company’s resilience to ESG and financially relevant risks over the long term. In 2019, BPER Banca’s rating was “A”.
