Prof.ssa Elisabetta GualandriBorn in Modena (MO) on 12th June 1955
She holds a degree in Economics and Business Studies from Modena University and a Master’s degree in Financial Economics from the University College of North Wales and is a registered Auditor.
She is a full Professor of Economics and Financial Intermediaries at the “Marco Biagi” Department of Economics of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, where she carries out research and consultancy for CEFIN, the Banking and Financial Research Centre and for Softech –ICT (industrial research center) of which she is Deputy Director. She is the author of numerous studies and publications on the management and regulation of financial intermediaries, including: The Italian Banking System and the Financial Crisis, written together with S. Cosma, published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2012.
She currently holds the position of Director of BPER Banca S.p.A.
She is also Chairman of the Control and Risk Committee and a Member of the Remuneration Committee and the Independent Directors’ Committee of the Bank.
She is also currently a member of the Board of Directors of IGD SIIQ S.p.A. - Immobiliare Grande Distribuzione, ABI Servizi S.p.A., MAT3D S.r.l. and of the Technical and Scientific Committee of the Knowbel Incubator at Tecnopolo (Modena Research Center) at ‘Unione Terre dei Castelli’.
She was a Statutory Auditor of the Bank of Italy from 2007 until she was co-opted onto the Board of Directors of BPER on 28 August 2012 and has been Director of Datariver S.r.l. - Spin Off of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. Furthermore from 2013 to 2018 she has also been Advisor of the European Commission “Horizon 2020 Access To Risk Finance”.
